Testimonials:
Thrilling experience of Vanayatra
From Subhash Naga Software Engineer from Philips.

"As part of Van Yatra, we visited to the hostel for girls run by Vanvasi Kalyan. |
They welcomed us with "Namaste ji". They recited many Shlokas from Bhagavad Gita and told meaning for the same. Can bet that even after sparing a few minutes we cannot recite without difficulty!! They were singing songs and dancing. And, we could observe a lot of good habits in them. It’s being taught by some volunteers of Vanvasi Kalyan. There are few women who take care of the education. I tell you, it’s only out of passion they teach and not for money.
We also visited to another place which is 40 km from the main road. We visited the homes of the children there. They don’t have electricity, no hospital. They do not have anything apart from the cattle. Hats off to Vanavasi Kalyan for serving the needy tribal in deep forests."

We did 'Vanayathra', trip to the tribal hamlets of Bandipur forest .
|
It was an experience which will make anyone realize how fortunate he or she has been as compared to the tribals many of who live in pitiable conditions devoid of basic needs of life, Water, food and education (Forget about health care).
Vanavasi Kalyana has started a Bala Samskara Kendra (non formal education) in one of the houses. A teacher from nearby village comes regularly for 3 hours in the morning. The women, with the help of volunteers of Vanavasi Kalyana have formed a self-help group, where they meet once a fortnight save upto 5 to10 Rs each, which they themselves deposit into a Grameena Bank in the nearest village. They have deposited Rs 3000 in one year time which they can use when need arrives. Earlier they had to borrow money from the market at 10 % interest monthly. The bank in future will help them to start a small business.
There are hundreds of tribal hamlets, which are all over Karnataka where Vanavasi Kalyan had spread its activites .Let us all extend our helping hands to Vanavasi Kalyan in there endeavour uplift vanavasi's.
